Re-Elect BILL HAMILTON on October 20th, 2025 for Leduc City Council
My personal goals during past terms on Council are still relevant today:
Remain accessible to the public, encouraging respectful debate & diverse opinions
Seek out and support crime reduction initiatives
Balance growth with affordable maintenance of existing infrastructure
Support and increase Cultural & Recreational opportunities
Protect & enhance responsible access to green spaces in our community
Improve Social programs and services
Maintain Leduc’s strong presence within regional alliances
I have been supported by co-council members on initiatives I’ve felt strongly about and as a team I believe Leduc is better for our efforts. Our Council and Administration work well together. We try to create a positive environment to support local business and attract larger industry. We have improved the process for engaging with our residents, we strive to keep tax increases modest and we continue to represent Leduc positively on the regional stage.
My current committee responsibilities:
Leduc, Nisku & Wetaskiwin Regional Chamber of Commerce
Leduc Regional Housing Foundation
Arrow Utilities Board (Wastewater Commission)
Leduc Family & Community Support Services (Alt.)
Leduc & District Regional Waste Management Commission (Alt.)
I take these appointments seriously and appreciate all the good work these organizations do in our community.
Going forward, there is no shortage of work for Council but I’m excited by the opportunities. The opening of 65th Avenue and reduced AVPA (Airport Vicinity Protection Area) restrictions provide exciting opportunities for industrial and residential growth of our community. Leduc continues to be a leader in Sport Tourism and there is a plan for adding needed recreation amenities that will begin to take shape during the next term. Crime reduction efforts are everyone’s responsibility. RCMP, Bylaw Officers and each one of us has to be willing to report concerns when we see them. I know the value of local treasures like the Grain Elevator, Dr. Woods House Museum, historic Downtown district, the Arts Foundry and other volunteer based organizations who work so hard and add so much to our culture and as a Councillor I’ll do my best to support them. Leduc is growing quickly and our active participation in Alberta’s Mid Sized City Caucus will serve us well as we balance growth based service demands while maintaining our small town charm. I fully believe in doing my part - plus a little extra, and that is how we all move forward together.
